Over the years, we have gained an appreciation for quality wines that enhance foods and meals. We value the role
wine plays in gatherings, both intimate and large. In keeping with that idea, our goal is to create wines that are "food
friendly," enhancing dishes rather than competing with them.
Because most of our vineyard blocks are small (one acre), most estate wines will be produced in small limited
quantities. While we will blend certain varietals, many limited production estate wines will be single vineyard designated.
We just released our first Rhone blend, "Ensemble", as well as our 2006 vintage of Barbera.
Look for our Super Tuscan blend some time later in the year.

2005 "ENSEMBLE"
50% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 25% Mourvedre
Our
first Rhone
style blend has a rich garnet color with a hazelnut, cinnamon, floral, herb bouquet.
The Syrah adds tannin structure and body with a hint of smoke, but is managed by the lighter body and fruit, blackberry
and cherries, of the Grenache. The Mourvedre imparts a savory character that
fills the mid-palate with fennel and leather. Together the velvety finish of
this wine offers homage to the long time practice recognized in the Rhone Valley of France.
in which the fruit, acid and oak are all in balance
